I hope you have been relaxing and enjoying your birthday. I would love to take you somewhere nice, if I were able. I like the Van's. It is so "old school" with a nice view.  It feels comfortable. The same waiter has been there forever. I hope the restaurant hasn't been harmed too much by the pandemic. I bought my son a Groupon for The Van's but it didn't get to be used yet. We did our Christmas there one year. It was really nice. I keep ordering the chicken livers, one because they are the least expensive and two, they are very good. When my grandmother would take everyone out for a special dinner, she would bring all the decorations and have everyone go to her house and drink first and then not have that expense at the restaurant. She was a tough lady, but very generous. Nan Wood left her money in her will and my grandmother gave some of it to me as a down payment on my first house. It was a sweet house in Sunnyvale with the BEST orange and avocado trees on the planet!
