I am the other Elephant Man

I am reviled and rejected

No goodness detected

I am lonely and alone

My inner voice became a moan

I am unsightly to the eye

I was born so I could die

For a moment I lived in grace

But a monster has no caring place

I am shackled by my ugly shell

It's become a living nightmare Hell

No one sees my soul of compassion
or my loving heart

They look at me and viciously
tear me all apart

I don't know why God thought of me
or how I fit his plan

I guess it's just not something
a monster
should
ever
understand.
