TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

My name is Michael Levine, and I first met Cheryl Petrovich in May of 1998.  Since that time, she and I have become close friends who have been privy to all aspects of each other's personal lives. I have always known Cheryl to be a very kind, caring, empathetic person, generous to a fault, and someone who has delighted in gift-giving as an expression of her deep affection and respect for others.

On Sept. 30, 2016:

I was speaking with Cheryl on my mobile phone while she was standing on the sidewalk of El Camino Real in So. San Francisco, near the Kaiser Permanente facility, holding a picket sign protesting her civil rights had been violated there. While we were speaking, I heard a man's voice through the phone, which sounded vague at first, becoming more clear as he approached her. He basically told Cheryl that she had no right to be there (even though she was not actually on Kaiser property at the time), and at one point accusing Cheryl of giving "creepy" and  "disgusting" gifts to the doctor who had helped her. When Cheryl pointedly asked him if Marija Petrovic, the psychiatrist, had been brought in to Kaiser specifically to "get rid" of her as Dr. Lukaszewicz's patient, he responded, "Yes, she was hired specifically to get rid of you!"

For at least as long as I've known her, Cheryl has always stood up for the rights of others (more so than for her own) and has demonstrated a fierce loyalty that I've rarely encountered.  She is a dedicated environmentalist, a sincere friend of the earth, and one who continually supports worthy causes and individuals. She possesses a genuine "moral compass" that anyone who gets to know her will affirm. If there are any further questions, feel free to call me at the number below.

Signed,

Michael Levine
