Chapin was a newspaper editor in Northwest Iowa: Ida Grove, Iowa Index {Hull}, Sheldon News, Ashton Argus, Ida Grove Pioneer & Rock Rapids Review from 1881- 1898. Geneology of his family, reminescenses of Coon Grove, Denison {where he started work at the Denison Bulletin} then the Vail Observer, politics, early accounts of settlers, winter of 1881, Railroads, etc. 24 pages. Hard blue covers with gold lettering. Illustrated with photographs mostly. Very interesting book on early NW Iowa, its settling,& growing by a man who was there and in the newspaper business. Minor corner bumping to covers. Fine condition. Scarce book
