I know it is silly to think about, but in the movie, "The Holiday" when Amanda thought she would home early, what would she have done with the dog? Let it starve?  Also, would she have imposed herself on Iris' vacation? Amanda was obviously pretty self-centered. Of course her driver was a complete a-hole too.
Iris was already kind and caring.
They both changed a lot and found love in the end. Sweet. I like happy endings to movies, so those recommendations were especially good for me.
