Someone who has had 5 years to think about what bad thing they did to another person and yet did nothing that entire time to even make an attempt to make amends and even has people make further attacks, deserves the punishment they are served. That is a person who feels no remorse. It is called being a narcissistic sociopath, with attempted murder thrown in.
